IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis
Wolff
March 22, 1943 – February 3, 2025
Dennis Wolff, longtime resident of the Town of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 3, 2025. He was 81 years old.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on March 22, 1943, to Leonard and Evelyn (née Dehling) Wolff, Dennis followed his eye for adventure by enlisting in the U.S. Army immediately after school. He first served his country as a vehicle mechanic at Fort Lewis in Washington and, later, took great pride in earning his parachutist badge. After the Army, Dennis took a position as a CNC machinist at Evinrude Motors — and remained at the company for 36 years.
Dennis was united in marriage with Joette Werking on January 24, 1970, at the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Port Washington. The couple was blessed with two children. Their paths later diverged. Fortunate to find love again, Dennis married Janice Haelfrisch on December 26, 1987, in Milwaukee. The couple lived happily on their property in the Town of Cedarburg until Jan preceded Dennis in death in 2018.
His lifelong passion for fast cars was a driving force in Dennis' life. The proud owner of numerous Corvette models — the Z06 was his favorite — he also treasured his Dodge 330 hotrod, but Ford was his car of choice. In his younger days, he could be found drag racing cars, motorcycles, and boats. Dennis was a proud member of the West Bend Moose Lodge 1398. As a member of the Wisconsin Street Rod Association, he frequently hosted car shows at his home. Dennis was a social butterfly and seemed to know someone wherever he went.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children Tyfani (Jeff) Ulicki of Port Washington and Dustin (Jessica) Wolff of Wauwatosa. Dennis is further survived by his grandchildren, sister Darlene "Lena" (the late Don) Burich of Oshkosh, brother Donald (Jackie) Wolff of Menomonee Falls, nieces, nephews, additional family, including his two beloved cats Mootsy and Little Wolffie, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Jan, parents Leonard and Evelyn, and infant brother Gene.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Eernisse Funeral Home (1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington), followed by military honors. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday, February 15, from 2 p.m. until services begin at 5 p.m. Dennis will be laid to rest beside his family at Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee.
Memorials in his name are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wisconsin Humane Society/Ozaukee campus.
