Dennis Norbert Race, age 79, passed away on May 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born on November 16, 1946, at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington, Wisconsin. He lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and an unwavering love for his family.
Throughout his life, Dennis worked many jobs before ultimately retiring from Simplicity, where he worked as an assembler. No matter where he worked, Dennis was known as dependable, hardworking, and someone willing to help anyone who needed it. He was the kind of man who would carry a marble countertop on a broken heel simply because hard work and determination were in his DNA.
Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, horseshoes, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and striking up friendly conversations with just about anyone he met. He was also a gifted handyman who could fix nearly anything. More than anything else, Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose love for his family friends was endless.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Race; his son, Jason Race and wife, Karly Race; his beloved grandchildren, Cooper, Calvin, and Lyla Race, and Levi Barrett; his sister, Patsy Depies; along with numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Barrett; his brother, Roger Race; and his parents, Butch “Miland” Race and Lorraine Koch.
A visitation for Dennis will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Eernisse Funeral Homes in Port Washington, Wisconsin, followed by burial services.
Dennis will be deeply missed and forever loved.
