Mr. Dennis A. Nemitz of First Street in Belgium formerly of Port Washington passed away Wednesday evening July 30 2003 at Columbia - St. Mary's Ozaukee Campus in Mequon surrounded by his family. He was 59 years old. Dennis was born in Port Washington on November 13 1943 son of Arnold C. and Adela Frank Nemitz. On October 8 1966 he was united in marriage to Karen Knuth at St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Washington. Dennis worked at the Ozaukee Press as a graphic artist until 1995. He most recently worked for the W.O. Hoard Co. of Fort Atkinson. Mr. Nemitz was a charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Grafton and was very involved in church activities holding every office except president and sang in the choir. He enjoyed woodworking and was known for the beautiful hand carved wood signs that hang at the church including the two large ones outside. He also enjoyed art and photography and was a volunteer at Riveredge Nature Center. Dennis is survived by his wife Karen of Belgium their daughter Wendy (Rev. Martin) Luchterhand or Bozeman MT 3 grandsons Aaron Benjamin and Caleb Luchterhand also of Bozeman MT his mother-in-law Dorene Knuth of Port Washington brother-in-law Donald (Renee') Knuth of Port Washington sister-in-law Joyce Nemitz of Fort Meyers FL nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents a brother Arnold Jr. 2 infant brothers Gordon and Vernon and an infant sister Marlys. Funeral services will be held Sunday August 3 2003 2 PM at Our Savior Lutheran Church 1332 Arrowhead Rd. Grafton. Pastor Mark Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in Zur Ruhe Cemetery Cedarburg. The family will receive visitors at the church Sunday from 2-6PM. Memorials to the family are suggested.
