Dennis Hoffman, of Port Washington, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. He was 68 years old.
Dennis was born in Wausau, son of Carl Hoffman and Shirley McFarlane Hoffman. His family moved around the state in his youth but settled in Port Washington where Dennis attended Port Washington High School with the class of 1970. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he was a SeaBee. On September 6,1975, Dennis married Nancy Ann Conrad at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. He attended Milwaukee School of Engineering and UW-Milwaukee. Dennis worked as an engineer for Ellison Technologies in Pewaukee for over 20 years. He also taught engineering classes at UW-Milwaukee. In 2017 he retired from PD Peterka in Saukville, where he was the general manager for nine years.
Dennis was a member of St. John XXIII Parish. He loved going to Shawano Lake with his bother Terry. Dennis enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, cooking, watching sports, working on his computer and gardening. He always looked forward to spending time eating lunch and socializing with his good friends at Schooner Pub. Dennis loved his family and being a grandpa to his five grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 44 years Nancy of Port Washington, three sons: Jeff (Amanda) Hoffman of Wales, Eric (Margo) Hoffman of Glendale, and Christopher Blake (special friend Brittany Schultz) Hoffman of Port Washington. He is further survived by five grandchildren: Gavin, Malayna, Avianah, Elizabeth and Charlie, seven siblings: Judith Hoffman of Elkhart Lake, Carla (Pat) Neaveux of West Bend, Alan (Diane) Hoffman of Stevens Point, Karen (David) Wetzel of Belgium, Rick (Joni) Hoffman of Belgium, Terry (Kathy) Hoffman of Port Washington and Scott (Laura) Hoffman of Oostburg, brother-in-law Howie (Sue) Conrad of Mill Valley, CA, his dear friend of 54 years Tom "Possum" Jacque, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and mother and father-in-law Howard and Leona Conrad.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 1st at 12 Noon at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary's Church in Port Washington. Father Pat Wendt will preside over the Mass. Visitation will take place at the CHURCH on Saturday February 1st from 10 AM until 12 Noon.
