IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis M.
Condon
March 5, 1938 – March 19, 2025
We are saddened to share that Dennis Matthew Condon passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the age of 87, at The Village Pointe Commons in Grafton, Wisconsin.
Born March 5, 1938, in Somerville, Massachusetts, to William Joseph Condon and Margaret M. Fraser, Dennis stepped up as "man of the family" at age 11 after his father's passing. He graduated with honors from Boston College and proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps (Oohrah!).
Dennis dedicated his career to the FBI, serving in the Milwaukee office as a Special Agent, firearms instructor at the FBI Academy, and on the Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force. His children fondly remember using old FBI Ten Most Wanted posters as drawing paper.
Known for his sharp mind and quick wit, Dennis loved sports, storytelling (without interruptions!), and collecting—particularly stamps, Olympic pins, baseball cards, and sports autographs. A highlight of his life was working at the 1980 Winter Olympics on the Joint Terrorism Task Force and witnessing the "Miracle on Ice." He coached and cheered for his children's sports teams with the same enthusiasm.
An accomplished athlete, Dennis ran over 35 marathons—including nine consecutive Boston Marathons—and was featured in Reader's Digest in April 1971. He also enjoyed softball and competing in the Badger State Track & Field Games.
Dennis leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years, Lenys Walden. He cherished her home-cooked meals, their time at the cottage, their dogs, spending winters in warmer places, and their travels together. He is also survived by his former wife and their five children together: Daniel Condon, Megan (Patrick) Greischar, Mary Catherine (Paul) Lenaker, Brigid Condon (Erin Brady), and Kevin (Megan) Condon; as well as eight grandchildren and brother-in-law Ned Huwatschek. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Joseph Condon, and stepson Bradley Walden.
A celebration of Dennis's life will be held later this spring/summer. His family extends heartfelt thanks to the hospice care team for their compassion and support.
Rest peacefully Dennis.
