Mrs. Denise Vasquez, of Port Washington, formerly of Bristol, CT, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, May 23, 2022, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was 57 years old. Denise was born in New York, NY, on April 29, 1965. She grew up in the Litchfield county, CT area, daughter of Grant Herman and Evelyn (nee McGee) Herman. Denise graduated from Torrington High School with the class of 1983. On April 12, 2004, she married Ray Vasquez in Milwaukee, WI. Denise worked as a pharmacy technician for many years for area pharmacies, including ShopKo. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing games, painting, and especially spending time with her grandson Avery, who affectionately called her "Gwagwa". She was known for her kind heart and gentle demeanor. She will be truly missed by all of her family. She is survived by her beloved husband Ray of Port Washington, her three dear children: Ashley Torvinen of Berlin, CT, Krystle (Kyle) Nusslock of Saukville, and William Torvinen of Berlin, CT. She is further survived by her loving grandson Avery, other relatives, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her father Grant.
