Obituary

Delwin C. Brophy Delwin C. Del Brophy age 77 of Fredonia passed away Friday evening February 18 2005 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee Campus in Mequon. He was born July 16 1927 in the Town of Saukville son of the late Frank and Lulu Bell Brophy. On June 25 1949 he married Colleen Mullen at Holy Angles Catholic Church in West Bend. After serving his country in the US Navy Mr. Brophy started Brophy and Olsen Electric in Port Washington and later Brophy and Miller Electric and also served for a time as the Electrical Inspector for the City of Port Washington. He was a perfectionist in his trade trying his best for his customers. Del was very dedicated to his family. Whether is was being a handyman for his kids and grandkids telling his great stories or trips to the Golden Gloves Boxing Championship his family was very important to him. Del was a member of Holy Rosary Parish where he volunteered much of his time and talents the Catholic Order of Foresters the Fredonia Lions Club and the American Legion. He also enjoyed model trains and planes camping and fishing. He is survived by his wife Colleen of Fredonia 8 children; Nora (Ken) Matthews of Belgium Jennifer (Glen) Moegenburg of Fredonia Ann (Dan) Miller of Kenosha Dan (Patti) Brophy of Grafton Mary Lu (Dick) Sachs of Green Bay Kim (Dawn) Brophy of McHenry IL Joel (fianc Lori Miller) of St. Cloud and Therese (Mike) Ziemer of West Bend. He is further survived by 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren 1 brother Pat (Joan) Brophy of Baraboo nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents 2 brothers Frank and Leroy and 2 sisters Pearl Ziegler and Ethel Bauschelt. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 23 6:30 PM from the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Avenue Port Washington to Holy Rosary Parish St. Rose Chapel in Fredonia for Mass at 7 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Little Kohler. Visitation will be at the Eernisse Funeral Home Wednesday from 3-6:30 PM. Memorials suggested to St. Lawrence Seminary. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is assisting the family.
