IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Delores L. "Tillie"
Prom
July 19, 1929 – November 11, 2025
Delores "Tillie" Prom, age 96, of Port Washington, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her family on November 10, 2025. A soft-spoken woman who led by example, Tillie's life was anchored by her unwavering faith, generosity, good humor, and devotion to her family.
Born on July 19, 1929, to John and Elizabeth (Jentges) Thill of Holy Cross, Wisconsin, Tillie was a lifelong resident of Ozaukee County. She attended Holy Cross Grade School and graduated from Port Washington High School, where she was an avid athlete who loved playing softball and managing the parish baseball team. Those early years shaped her belief in teamwork, community, and perseverance—values she carried throughout her life.
After high school, Tillie met the love of her life, Marvin Prom, and they were married on September 15, 1951. Together, they raised eight children and built a home centered on faith, love, and laughter. Tillie and Marvin believed in giving their children the chance to see the world beyond their hometown. Traveling in their motor home, the family of ten embarked on countless adventures across the United States, creating lifelong memories of campfires, scenic drives, and togetherness.
Following Marvin's passing at a young age, Tillie faced life's challenges with strength and determination. She earned her real estate license and began a successful new chapter as a realtor. Her work ethic and natural warmth made her a trusted professional in the community. She served on the Board of Realtors and was recognized as Realtor of the Year for her dedication and leadership in the field.
Tillie's deep faith was the foundation of her life. A devoted member of St. John XXIII Parish (St. Mary's Campus), she served in the Christian Women's Society and devoted many hours to parish and school activities. She volunteered as a scout leader, helped in her children's classrooms, and participated in Relay for Life events. Her presence was a constant at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, birthday celebrations, concerts, and school performances—always cheering proudly from the stands.
A woman of many interests, Tillie balanced her family and professional life with a variety of passions. She was an avid reader and an active member of a golf league. With a passion for bowling, Tillie was a member of many bowling leagues from the time she was a teenager until she was ninety. She also loved playing bridge and Sheepshead with her close circle of friends. For decades, she and Marvin enjoyed Saturday gatherings with friends filled with cards, music, laughter, and food—a tradition that strengthened bonds and brought joy to everyone involved.
Tillie's commitment to an active lifestyle contributed to her long and fulfilling life. She was a loyal participant at the Feith Family YMCA from its inception, where she forged many cherished friendships. Known for her discipline and dedication, she could often be found waiting at the doors before 5:00 a.m., ready to start her day. Despite having access to an indoor swimming pool, Tillie decided at age sixty to take swimming lessons so she could finally join in the fun. She could often be found in the pool or hot tub after her morning workout. Until just a few years before her passing, Tillie proudly participated in the Portal Fish Day run/walk surrounded by many of her family members.
In her later years, Tillie continued to travel extensively. She especially loved spending the winter months at her home in Florida, enjoying the warm weather, daily walks, and visits from family and friends. Along with her travels, she was proud of her strong Luxembourg heritage and ties to the local Luxembourg American Society. Before her passing, Tillie was able to witness several of her children and grandchildren attain dual citizenship—something that brought her great pride and joy.
Her optimism, sense of humor, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. Tillie had a special gift for making others feel welcome and valued—a true reflection of the faith and love that guided her life.
