David E. Uselding, "Dave", age 79 went home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Dave was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 12, 1937 to Eugene and Elinor (nee Hubing) Uselding. Dave and Carol (nee Andlar) were united in marriage on February 15, 1958 in Shorewood, Wisconsin. Dave was a dedicated employee at Evinrude Outboard Motors for 30 years before retiring and relocating from Cedarburg to Iola with his wife Carol. He then went on to work as manager for 13 years at the Glacier Wood Pro-Shop in Iola. Dave was a sweet man with a kind heart. He enjoyed hunting, fishing golfing and trips to the casino. His super friendly personality attracted friends everywhere he went. It wasn't uncommon for Dave to see people he knew no matter where he was, even while on vacation with family in Hawaii. If he purchased new tennis shoes that meant a vacation was soon to come! He enjoyed his life of retirement living it carefree and with structure. You would see him at the Crystal Café for his cup of Joe, know he was napping after the soap opera episode ended and was sitting back relaxing with his beer during cocktail hour which started consistently at 4:00 PM. David is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Carol, daughter Ann (Gordon) Legaard, granddaughter Ellie Legaard, sisters-in-law Marilyn Staniec and family and Kathleen (Robert) Klein. He was preceded in death by his parents. Many friends and other relatives further survive him. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dave's life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Avenue Cedarburg, WI 53012 at 3:00 PM. Deacon Tom Surges will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of Service at 3:00 PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family.
