David Lee
Reamy
June 5, 1951 — June 12, 2026
David Lee Reamy, age 75, passed away on June 12, 2026, in West Bend, WI. He was born on June 5, 1951 in Providence, Rhode Island, to Leland Reamy and Barbara Balkcon.
Dave graduated from high school in Detroit in June of 1968 and immediately entered the Marine Corps. He served in the Vietnam War as a helicopter tailgunner and was honorably discharged in June of 1970. After the war, Dave settled in Milwaukee where he met his future wife Diane. They were married on June 5, 1983, (his birthday, so he would never forget their anniversary) at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
Dave had a long career as a Chrysler mechanic, working for Ewald Automotive for over 40 years. Outdoor Dave (when he wasn’t solving an automotive problem) was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed duck hunting, deer hunting, fishing, and trapshooting in Pittsville. Some of his favorite trips were tracking the one that always got away in Cable, fishing at Butternut, hunting out west in Wyoming, and an annual fishing trip to Lake Nipigon in Canada for many years. Regardless of the success of the hunt, they always achieved the true objective of having stories to tell over & over, and of course the memories (and chocolate chip cookies) to last a lifetime.
While his gruff exterior might fool you at first, "Remo" was actually a total softie who enjoyed teasing his loved ones, spending time with his grandkids, and giving all of the kitty-cats and hound dogs in his life lots of attention. He was always a good sport about being roped into going along for errands, attending grandkids’ school & sporting events, and getting on a plane for any exciting trip we could come up with. In his later years he loved driving to the nearby fishing spots to see if they were biting, enjoying the scenery with a cigarette and KwikTrip coffee.
Dave is survived by his spouse Diane; daughters Dana (Marcos) and Dawn (Matt); grandchildren Evelyn, Phoebe, Clark, and Max; sister Theresa (Lowell) of Detroit, MI; brother-in-law Chris (Wendy) of West Bend, WI; sister-in-law Allison of Nashville, TN; and nieces, nephews, and other friends & family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Perry, Brian, and Curt.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 20, at the Wisconsin Memorial Park Family Center with Pastor Krause from Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, with a service at 10:30 am. Committal and military honors will be held graveside at Wisconsin Memorial Park at 11:00 am. Lunch to follow.
