David Raphael Erickson, age 88, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, January 23, 2026. He was born on December 23, 1937, in Superior, Wisconsin, to Raymond and Clarice (nee Hogy) Erickson.

David was a graduate of Port Washington High School, class of 1956 where he was an avid runner and a member of the track team. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and later a Master of Science in Mathematics Education from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville in 1974. He taught mathematics for several years before beginning a long and faithful career at Northwestern Mutual Life, where he served as a Policy Values Analyst for 29 years.

On August 17,1963, David was united in marriage with Karen Fox in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Joliet, IL. The couple settled in Milwaukee in 1968 and raised their family of three boys.

A man of deep faith, David loved the Lord, his church, and his community. He had a lifelong passion for music and was a devoted member of the Whitefish Bay Community Band and other area concert bands. Playing his trumpet and attending Milwaukee Symphony concerts brought him great joy. He also enjoyed participating in his investment club and staying active through traveling, jogging, swimming, and sailing. He and his beloved wife Karen also treasured their regular card game nights with close friends, a tradition that brought much laughter and fellowship through the years.

Above all, David cherished his family and faithfully served his church, living with quiet strength, humility, and devotion.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Karen; his sons, Kevin (Kirstie), Mark (Susan), and Dave (Lori); his grandchildren, Krista, Elizabeth (Jesse), Sarah (Jordan), Heather (David), Jonathan, Abigail, Micah, and Peter; and his great-grandchildren, Warren and Logan, along with brothers, Jim (Connie) and John (Kathy), nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul (Arlene) Erickson.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and hospice caregivers at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital for their compassionate care and the comfort they provided during David's final days.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 11AM until 2:30Pm at Bezalel Christian Church , 777 State Hwy 164, Colgate, WI, led by Pastor Theo Williams.  A luncheon will be provided following the service.

David was laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
