Mr. David Elsila of the Town of Saukville, formerly of Cedarburg and Milwaukee, passed away suddenly at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton Saturday, March 30, 2019. He was 61 years old.
David was born in Iron Wood, MI on October 15, 1957, son of Charles and Gladys (née: Livingston) Elsila. The family moved from Upper Michigan to Kenosha when he was little, he attended local schools and graduated from Bradford High School, Class of 1975 in Kenosha. On July 16, 1988, David was united in marriage with Martha Rosado in Milwaukee. The couple settled in Milwaukee and started their family. In 2003 David and Martha moved to Cedarburg; they later purchased a hobby farm in the Town of Saukville.
David proudly served in the US Army Reserves for over 35 years, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant E7 before he retired in 2017. He was employed for over 28 years as a CNC Robotics Machinist at Badger Meter, where he worked alongside his son.
David loved spending time on his farm with his horses and animals. He was very involved with Ozaukee 4H Horse & Pony project, also a member of the Antique Tractor Club, and was an avid supporter of the Minnesota Vikings. His grandchildren, Kylie & Colton, lived next door to the farm, and he took great pleasure in spending time with them and helping them grow.
David is survived by his wife Martha, their daughter Alyssa (Andrew) Thomson, son Evan Elsila, and grandchildren Kylie and Colton Thomson, all of the Town of Saukville. He is further survived by siblings Charles (Dori) Elsila, Jr., of Springfield, IL, Diane (Charlie) Caldwell of Battle Creek, MI, Brian Elsila and Susan Elsila, both of Kenosha, special God-children Jeremiah Tremaine & Jazmine Jurkewicz, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive visitors at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington on Saturday, April 6th 2019 from 3-6PM, followed by funeral services at 6PM
Mr. Juan Otano Jr. will preside. Military Honors will follow the service.
