Obituary

Daryl J. Grimm “Grumpy” went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. He was 84 years old.

He was born on December 14, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents John and Dorothy (nee Groskretz) Grimm. Daryl grew up in Milwaukee and moved to Grafton. He retired from Bolens Manufacturing after 36 years. Daryl was united in marriage with Catherine Stadler on April 20, 1963, at Divine Savior Holy Cross Church. Together they raised three children in Fredonia.

Daryl loved hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. Daryl was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Above all, he cherished his time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy, children Sandy (Jeff) Moser, Deb Volkert (special friend Ron), and Greg (Jill) Grimm, grandchildren Corey (Hannah) and Nick Moser, Ryan (Ashley) and Chris (Claire) Volkert, Doug (Jenna) and Angie (Jake) Grimm, and great-grandson Levi Volkert. Daryl is also survived by his sisters Jan (Wes) Bates and Bunnie (Dave) Grisar, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Daryl was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Roxanne (Dick) Veser, Pat McGregor, and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4PM on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Cedarburg (1167 Washington Ave. Cedarburg, WI 53012). The family will greet guests from 1PM until the time of the service at 4PM. He will be laid to rest the next day at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in the Town of Sherman.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or plant a tree in memory of Daryl are greatly appreciated.
