July 21, 1945 – June 25, 2023
Mrs. Darlene Weyker, of the Town of Fredonia, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. She was 77 years old.
Darlene was born in Port Washington on July 21, 1945, daughter of Henry and Julia (nee Miller) Hoffmann. She attended local schools and graduated from Port Washington High School, Class of 1963.
Darlene was united in marriage with Eugene Weyker on October 10, 1970, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg. The couple settled in Port Washington and began their family. They later moved to the home they built in the Town of Fredonia. Mrs. Weyker was a purchasing agent at Freeman Chemical in Port Washington for 37 years and later at Amcast in Cedarburg, before retiring from Jeneil Biotech in Saukville.
Darlene was a member of Divine Savior Parish in Fredonia, where she was involved with the Christian Women's group. She was also a member of Catholic Knights. Mrs. Weyker loved gardening of all kinds and spent much of her time in her extensive flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and traveling. One of her favorite pastimes was watching her grandchildren at their various sporting events and other activities.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 52 years, Eugene, their son Brian (Linda) Weyker of Belgium, and grandchildren Mitchell, Caitlyn and Luke, all of Belgium. She is further survived by her brother Marvin (the late Eileen) Hoffmann, brothers- and sisters-in-law Mary Ellen (the late Robert) Hoffmann of Grafton, Ronald (Mary) Weyker of Fredonia and Virginia "Virg" Klapat of Port Washington, numerous nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Darlene is preceded in death by her daughter Michelle, brothers Robert, Raymond and Henry Jr., brother-in-law Robert Weyker, and sister-in-law Dorothy Foster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM on Friday, June 30th at Divine Savior Parish – Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 County Road B, Belgium. Father Donald Thimm will preside. She will be laid to rest beside her daughter in St. Rose Cemetery the following day. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Friday, June 30th, from 3-5:45PM.
Memorials, of desired, are suggested to the Fredonia Fire Department or the Holy Cross 4-H.
