Obituary

Daniel Joseph Schwab (known to others as Dad, Dan, Danny, Danno or Book 'em) passed away unexpectedly January 28, 2022, at just 65 years young. Dan was born in West Allis on August 2, 1956, son of William and Rosemary O'Brien Schwab. The family moved to Batavia while he was quite young and Dan attended local schools, graduating from Random Lake High School, Class of 1974. On May 8, 1976, he married Debra Seyfert, his high school sweetheart, at St. John Lutheran Church in Port Washington. The couple settled in Random Lake and raised their sons, Nic and Gus. Mr. Schwab was a member of the Random Lake Fire Department. He proudly served for over 20 years as an active member, and still volunteered every year to cook brats at the Fireman's Picnic. Dan was an avid cook, gardener, handyman, hunter, fishermen, home brewer, vintner, and jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed spending most Saturday nights at the Plymouth Dirt Track. Dan was generous with his talents and loved to help anyone in need. Although he never served in the military himself, Mr. Schwab had much respect for veterans and would frequently thank them for their service. Dan is survived by his wife Debbie, their sons Nicholas (Stephany) and Justin "Gus" Schwab, and his mother Rosemary Schwab. He is also survived by sisters Denise (Dave) Murre, Mary Depies, and Fran (Jesse) Verbanac, brothers William, Richard (Jennifer), Roy, and Michael "Mickey" Schwab. Dan is further survived by son-of-the-heart Nicholas Deutsch, sister-in-law Dawn (the late Jeff) Nash, brothers-in-law Daniel and David (Brenda) Seyfert, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his infant son Joseph, father William, brother Patrick, mother-in-law Alice Seyfert and father-in-law Donald (the late Lois) Seyfert. Per Dan's wishes, private family services will be held. A Celebration of Life is being planned for spring. If desired, memorials are suggested in his name to the Random Lake Fire Department or the Wounded Warrior Project. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements; online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com .
