Obituary

Daniel Braun, of Cedarburg, formerly of Madison, passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on June 17, 2024, after a brave 14-year battle with ILD.

Dan was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 16, 1950, to the late Harry and Donabelle (Doehling) Braun. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1968 after which he spent time playing bass guitar in the band The Music Movement. Dan loved playing in the band, eventually sharing his love of music with his three daughters, whom he loved very much.

Dan was the Owner and Operator of many companies throughout his life including: Hankscraft Motors in Reedsburg, AJS in Random Lake and Penda Corporation. He worked diligently to provide for his family and had a shrewd business sense that always allowed him to beat his girls at blackjack, sheepshead and Monopoly.

Dan spent much of his life in the Madison area and enjoyed playing golf at Bishops Bay Country Club. Dan got a hole in one on hole #8 at Bishops Bay on June 23, 1995, and a second hole in one at Castle Course at Northern Bay on July 14, 2015. Dan was an avid sports fan, and especially loved the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. He collected sports memorabilia and participated in fantasy football leagues, having already joined for the upcoming season. He loved a good practical joke and was known to day drink with his friends in Arizona. Dan loved to travel, making many trips to China. He immersed himself in Chinese culture and was extremely fond of Asian décor. Dan loved cars, especially Corvette's and was a self-proclaimed collector of knick-knacks. In his spare time, Dan could be caught watching the Game Show Network with the Price as Right being his absolute favorite.

Dan is survived by his three daughters: Shannon (Tony Miller) Braun of Cedarburg; Tracey (Matt) Junkin of Antioch, IL, and Erika (Jacob) McCutcheon of Cedarburg. One of Dan's greatest joys in life were his grandchildren: Madelyn and George Miller; Abby and Zach Junkin, and Miles and Daphne McCutcheon. He is also survived by his brother, two sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Dona, his brother Mike, and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Dan will be held on July 26, 2024, from 3-7 pm Upper Lake Park, 554 N. Lake Street, area 6, Port Washington, WI.

Dan will be laid to rest in a private burial at Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin, WI.
