Dale H.
Rudd
May 29, 1952 — October 5, 2026
Waubeka
Dale H. Rudd, of Waubeka, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, at The Waterford in West Bend. He was 74 years old.
Dale was born on May 29, 1952, in Pocatello, Idaho to parents Murray and Mary (nee Conn) Rudd. He spent his early childhood moving around the western United States with his family before they eventually settled in Wisconsin in 1964. Dale attended Port Washington High School and graduated in the Class of 1971. He was united in marriage with Linda Schlenvogt on March 9, 1974, at Freidens Church in Port Washington.
Dale was a man of few words, but you always knew where you stood with him. He had a quiet, dry sense of humor and could often make you laugh with just a simple comment or look. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. He worked for many years at Dehling & Voigt Roofing as a roofing foreman, where his strong work ethic and dedication were a reflection of the kind of man he was—dependable, hardworking, and always willing to do what needed to be done for his family.
Dale had a genuine love for nature and animals and seemed to have a special way with them. He never met a cat or dog that didn’t like him. He loved his Indian motorcycle and the freedom of getting out on the open road, whether it was a quick ride or a road trip to somewhere new. Road trips gave him a chance to explore, enjoy the scenery, and simply take in the journey. He also enjoyed working on his house and was happiest when he had a project to tinker with, something to fix, or a way to make things better.
He found happiness in the simple things—working with his hands, being outdoors, riding his motorcycle, and taking care of his home and family. Dale may not have been a man of many words, but he showed his love in the things he did. His hard work, quiet strength, sense of humor, and unwavering desire to provide for his family are a part of his legacy that will stay with us forever.
Dale is survived by his loving wife Linda, daughter Jodi (Jody) Schubert, and grandchildren Mason, Addison, Nicholas, Ashlyn, and Preston.
He is further survived by his sister Terri (John) Kolocek, brothers-in-law Gary (Doris) Schlenvogt, Alan (Donna) Schlenvogt, Lee (Pam) Schlenvogt, sister-in-law Bonnie Schlenvogt as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death recently by daughter Billie Jo, his parents Murray and Mary and in-laws Earl Sr. and Arlene Schlenvogt, brother-in-law Earl Schlenvogt Jr. and sister-in-law Joanne Schlenvogt.
Per Dale’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Waterford at West Bend and Horizon Hospice for their compassionate care, kindness, and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wisconsin Humane Society or Alzheimer's Foundation of America are greatly appreciated.
