CURTIS J. WYCKLENDT
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Curtis J Wycklendt on the evening of September 14th, 2023, at his residence in Glendale. He was 69 years old.
Born in Milwaukee on June 17, 1954 to Edward and Marjorie (nee Wanichek) Wycklendt, Curt attended local schools before going to UW Whitewater. While there, he studied hard, played on the football team, and met Leslie Ferguson. The couple married on May 29, 1976 at the First Congregational Church in Whitewater, and then they both continued their studies. Curt graduated in 1977. The couple moved to Milwaukee and then Oak Creek before moving to their current home in Glendale. Curt later earned his master's degree in Manufacturing Management from Kettering University.
Curt was a loving husband to Leslie. Together, they built a life filled with countless precious memories and unwavering devotion. Curt's amiable demeanor and kind-hearted nature endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mr. Wycklendt was a manager at Delco / Delphi Corporation for almost 30 years before taking a position with Nordco. He retired in 2020. He was a man of integrity, known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. As a pillar of support to his family and friends, Curt was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer sage advice.
Curt enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events, card games with his fraternity brothers, attending Whitewater football games, and weekend trips up north to Lake Lucerne with family. He also enjoyed long car rides and adventures with his wife, vacations to New Smyrna Beach, FL and Hawaii, and trips to their favorite restaurants.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Leslie, their son Andrew (Jessica) Wycklendt of Haleiwa, HI, daughter Sheila (Craig) Piotrowski of Port Washington, and grandchildren Aleia, Reagan, Jack, Caitlyn, and Taylor. He is further survived by his brothers Craig (Shawn) and Dean (Paula), sisters-in-law Pamela (Robert) Ellingson and Valerie (Marc) Blazich, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. Curt is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marjorie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, September 21st, at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 7600 N. Port Washington Road in Fox Point. Father Tonny Kizza will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday, September 21st, from 10 – 11:45 AM.
