Curtis H. McKinley USN Retired Mr. Curtis McKinley of Holden St. in Port Washington passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Sunday evening July 3 2005 after a 5 year battle with cancer. Curt was born January 27 1944 in Seattle WA son of Howard and Barbara Wiese McKinley. After graduating from high school he entered into service with the United States Navy. He served for 20 years in the Submarine Service as an electronic technician. On August 8 1964 he was united in marriage with Jane Martin at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Milwaukee. After Curt retired from the Navy in 1981 the couple settled in the Port Washington area. Upon retiring from the Navy Curt worked as an Electronics Technician in the Research and Development area of Astronautics Corp. of America in Milwaukee. Mr. McKinley had traveled the world extensively. He was an avid reader who enjoyed woodworking and playing golf. He is survived by his wife Jane of Port Washington their son Michael (Deborah) McKinley of Ventura Ca their daughter Jeannine (Timothy) Fisher of League City TX 3 grandchildren: Jacqueline McKinley of Ventura CA Nicholas and Megan Fisher of League City TX. He is further survived by 2 brothers: David (Paula) McKinley of Fairfax VA and Richard McKinley of Evans GA 2 sisters: Barbara McKinley of Miami FL and Alice McKinley of Orlando FL nieces nephews other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday July 9 at 12:30 PM at St. Peter's of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington. Deacon Tom Surgis will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church Saturday from 11 AM until the time of services. Sr. Chief McKinley will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery Arlington VA later this summer.
