Obituary

CRAIG R. CARLSON Craig Carlson of Woodland Drive in the Town of Jackson formerly of Butternut Lane in Grafton passed away Saturday evening July 14th 2012 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton due to a pulmonary embolism following a sports injury. He was 25 years old. Craig was born in Port Washington on October 24 1986 son of James R. and Susan L. Winter Carlson. He grew up in Grafton with his brothers and sister and attended local schools. Craig graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 2005 following an extensive sports-filled four years that included hockey golf and soccer. Craig attended Carroll University graduating with a bachelor's degree in Business Management in 2010. While at Carroll he started all four years for the Carroll University Soccer Team. Craig worked as a personal banker for US Bank in Brookfield before taking a job as a Cash Management Representative with Robert W. Baird in Milwaukee in January of this year. Craig was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Grafton. He was a passionate sportsman playing with the Croatian Eagles of South Milwaukee and coaching with the Grafton Soccer Club for the last two years. He enjoyed travelling and had recently returned from a trip to Poland where he attended the Euro 2012 Soccer Championships. He also enjoyed reading. Craig is survived by his family: parents Jim Sue Carlson of Jackson brothers James Jr. (Katherine) of Grafton and Kevin Carlson of Jackson and sister Kristin (Steve Symmonds) Carlson also of Jackson. He is further survived by his grandparents: Betty J. Carlson of Eagle River Richard Crescentia Chris Winter of Sheboygan Falls aunts uncles cousins other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather John R. Bob Carlson and his uncle Randall N. Gartman. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday July 21st at Grace Lutheran Church 715 6th Ave. Grafton. Rev. Paul Bulgerin will officiate. Craig will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery Grafton following the service. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Ave. Cedarburg Friday from 3-8PM and at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 AM. Memorials are suggested to the Grafton Soccer Club in Craig's name.
