CORWIN Bud H. MISER Bud Miser of Port Washington passed away Thursday evening December 19 2013 at Harbor Cove where he had been residing. He was 90 years old. Corwin was born in Milwaukee on March 7 1923 son of Herbert and Johanna Klotz Miser. He was a graduate of Grafton High School with the Class of 1940. Bud enlisted in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) at the age of 17. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre as part of an anti-aircraft unit. On September 8 1943 Bud was united in marriage with Bernice Bernie Frank at Ft. Stewart GA. The couple settled in Cedarburg and moved to Port Washington in 1953. Bud worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department for three years before taking a position with the Port Washington Police Department. In 1958 Mr. Miser became a rural carrier for the US Postal Service later being appointed Assistant Postmaster and ultimately Postmaster a position he retired from in 1985. Bud served many years as Church President and was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Washington. He was also a member of Port Washington Kiwanis Club and VFW Post 5373 where he was a past Post Commander. Bud had been very involved with Boy Scouts as a troop leader and District Commissioner was chairman of the Police Fire Commission in Port Washington and enjoyed traveling. He is survived by his wife Bernie and their four children: David (Cindy) Miser of Janesville Sandi Moors of Destin FL Mike (Sandy) Miser of Hudson and Trish (Chuck) Zamora of Mequon. He is further survived by seven grandchildren: Dan (Renee) Miser Scott (Kendra) Moors Michelle (Brad) Montgomery Matthew Miser Kevin (Julie) Miser Corwin Cory and Bethany Zamora 6 great grandchildren nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Charlene Peter Jehn. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Monday December 23 at St. John's Lutheran Church 217 Freeman Drive Port Washington followed by Military Honors. Pastor John Klieve will preside. Mr. Miser will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at CHURCH on Monday from 10AM until services at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Bethesda Lutheran Home or to St. John's Lutheran Church. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
