With the admiration and respect of her family, friends, and caregivers, Colleen J. Sullivan joined Jesus in heaven on August 11, 2022. Her sister Minna, her parents Harriett and James, and her dear Aunt Dee welcomed her home. Her surviving family and friends will deeply miss her. These include her son, Logan Blumenberg, her brother and super-supporter, Terry and his wife Jill, her sister, Bridget Meissner and her husband Bert, her sister Katrena Jacobs, her sister Maureen Behnke and her husband Jim, and her former spouse and dear friend Jay Blumenberg. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews as well long-time friends Jean Marie, Karen, and Cate. Colleen had a quirky, irreverent, and hilarious sense of humor. She used this gift, along with empathy, and insight in her career as a psychiatric nurse. She had an uncanny ability to reach out to people when they were in crisis and at their most vulnerable. She loved the Packers, Jerry Seinfeld and the Festivus pole, and her Irish heritage. She savored many beautiful sunrises over Lake Michigan from her beautiful home in Port Washington. Sincere thanks go to her wonderful landlords Gertjan and Freda. During some periods of her life Colleen struggled with addiction and anxiety. She embraced Alcoholics Anonymous and served as a sponsor. She was also involved in AA's jail ministry. God broke her chains and freed her so she could and demonstrate freedom, sobriety, and clear-headed peace as she courageously faced her death. A sincere thank you to the staff at the Grafton Aurora Hospital and as the Specialty Select Hospital in St. Francis. The family appreciates all your support and continued prayers.
