Obituary

Clyde Daniel Burke passed away on Monday July 31, 2017 at his Cedarburg residence after a prolonged illness, he was 81. Clyde was born in Milwaukee on May 24, 1936, the son of Ervin and Frances (nee Ziller) Burke. He was united in marriage to Jane Bresina in Milwaukee on February 16, 1963. Clyde and his brothers were standout athletes, especially in baseball. The "Burke boys" were imposing figures in stature and talent. Clyde's talent was recognized when he was selected in 1954 to represent Wisconsin in the Hearst All-Star Baseball Game played at the iconic Polo Grounds in New York City. In addition to his athletic accomplishments he was a proud US Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife Jane, son Daniel Burke of Scottsdale, AZ, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Delvan Burke and Ronald Burke, and nephew Michael Burke who was a US Army Vietnam War Veteran. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will take place at 3:00 PM on Saturday September 16, 2017 at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg, WI 53012. The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday from 1-3:00 PM and at a reception to be held immediately following the Service. Memorials to St. Francis Borgia Church or the Ozaukee Humane Society, appreciated. Online condolences can be forwarded to the family at www.eernissefuneralhome.com.
