Obituary

Mr. Claude Wollner, of Falls Road in Grafton, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Cedar Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg. He was 87 years old. Claude was born in the Town of Grafton on January 1, 1929, son of Anton and Theresa Dickmann Wollner. He attended local schools, graduating from Grafton High School in 1948. Claude proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On May 15, 1954 he was united in marriage with Dolores Retzer. The couple settled in Grafton and started their family. She preceded him in death in 2012. Mr. Wollner worked at the IGA, later Sentry Foods in Grafton. He retired in 1994 as the Produce Manager, after 40 years on the job. Claude was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters, Rose Harms American Legion Post 355, and a 70 year member of the Grafton Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing dominoes and a good game of sheepshead. He also enjoyed watching Green Bay Packer games and cheering for the Milwaukee Brewers & the Chicago Cubs. He truly enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren, and creating lasting memories with them. Claude is survived by his six children: Michael (Cynthia) Wollner of Theresa, Gary (Lori) Wollner of Mound, MN, Cindy Wollner of Grafton, Scott (Patty) Wollner of Jackson, Ron (Meg) Wollner of Cottage Grove, and Robert (Tanya) Wollner of Greenfield. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren: John, Jessica (Sean) Graddy, Breana, Jenny, Jacob, Hallie, Molly, Kelly, Hannah, Olivia and Hunter, 2 great-grandchildren: Aidan, Avery, sisters-in-law Margaret Wollner of Germantown and Joanne (Kenneth) Gundrum of Grafton, brother-in-law Bill (Judy) Retzer, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Dolores, sister Antoinette Port and brother Wilfred Wollner. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM on Tuesday, November 8th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1619 Washington St., Grafton. Father Michael Barrett will preside. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery the following morning with Military Honors. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Tuesday from 2:30-5:30PM. There will be military and fire department walk-throughs at 5:30PM, prior to mass. Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
