CLARA A. WEISS Mrs. Clara Weiss of Hales Trail in Port Washington passed away at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon on Thursday afternoon July 10 2014. She was 75 years old. Clara was born in Ladysmith on October 25 1938 daughter of William and Rose O'Brien Melsheimer. The family moved to Milwaukee while Clara was a child and later to the Ozaukee County area in 1953. On November 24 1956 Clara was united in marriage to Joseph C. Weiss at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. The couple settled in Port and raised their family. Mrs. Weiss had a passion for cooking; and enjoyed feeding her family and friends while she took great pride in showing off her culinary skills. Clara enjoyed gardening fishing crocheting and often created beautiful homemade gifts with her numerous arts and crafts skills. Anything she tried she went all out on; from elaborately wrapping Christmas presents to decorating cakes and cookies the more detailed she could make it the better. In their early retirement years Clara and Joe enjoyed traveling to Florida to escape the harsh Wisconsin weather. They made many friends in the area of Cedar Keys. Most recently she became computer savvy frequently spending time online on her iPhone or her tablet and often passing along tricks and shortcuts she learned to her children and grandchildren. Clara is survived by her loving husband Joe and their children Jody (Curt) Hoff of Mequon and Joe (Brenda) Weiss Jr. of Port Washington. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren 1 great-grandchild 2 soon-to-arrive great-grandchildren brother Ray Melsheimer of Cedar Keys FL son-in-law Ken Grabarczyk nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter Kim Grabarczyk sister Rosemary Binsfield and brothers Bill Mike John and Chuck Melsheimer. At Claras request private family services were held. The Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
