Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Christine "Chris" A. Depies, beloved wife, loving mother, caregiver and friend. Chris of Random Lake, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the age of 74. She was born the daughter of Llewellyn and Cynthia (Hessler) Culbert in Milwaukee on June 4, 1951. On October 25, 1969, Chris married her true love, Ronald Depies, and together they were blessed with four amazing children.

Chris was known for her compassion, her humility and honesty. She had a gift for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. Her hands were always busy, and her heart was always open. She was a true advocate for her family.

Chris wove a life of quiet brilliance and unwavering devotion. She embodied creativity, loyalty, and a deep love for both family and nature. She nurtured every petal, studied every stitch, and devoted every moment to her family.

Chris will be remembered as a kind person who remembered birthdays without reminders, who made holidays magical with handmade decorations, and who showed up—always—with warmth, wisdom, and a plate of something delicious. Her loyalty to family was fierce and tender. She was the glue, the compass, the quiet strength behind every celebration and every challenge. As an avid Green Bay Packers fan, she never missed a game.

Her memory will live on through those who knew her best. Chris is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Ronald; cherished children Sue (Jeff) Styer, Virgina (Kevin Andrews) Depies, Dan (Lea Ann) Depies and Scott (Ardea Miller) Depies; loving grandchildren Tyler (Britney), Tegan, Alyssa (Charlie), Nicholas and adored great-grandchild Riley; siblings Patti (Ron) Jung and Linda (Ken) Metz; mother-in-law Joan Depies. She is also survived by a host of beloved relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Llewellyn Culbert III, beloved grandson Trevor Henderson, father-in law Jerome Depies, and her dear friend Bev Jacoby.

A celebration of life and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6pm on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, W4274 Co Hwy K, Random Lake (Dacada), WI 53075. The family will receive friends and relatives at church in a time of visitation from 4:00- 5:45pm. Chris will be laid to rest by her family at St. Nicholas Cemetery.

While Chris may no longer walk among us, the love, compassion, and strength she shared will forever echo in the lives she touched. We warmly welcome all who knew her to join in honoring her memory and celebrating the remarkable legacy she leaves behind. May she find eternal peace.

In lieu of flowers (if any), the family kindly requests donations be made on behalf of Chris to the Royal Family KIDS Camp and Club at (https://www.forthechildrenmilwaukee.org/shop) reflecting Chris' continued support and mentorship of others.

A very special "Thank You" to all our family and friends, and the Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center Oncology and Intensive Care Unit Teams who supported Chris and her family.
