Cheryll Martin (nee Smitham) of Cedarburg, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by family December 24, 2019 after a long brave fight with cancer. Cheryll was a tremendous inspiration during this time, continuing to battle through immense pain until the end. Cheryll was born to Ronald and Jean (nee Butts) Smitham on August 13th, 1956. Mema had an extra special place in her heart for her cherished grandchildren. Her extraordinary love of animals will be remembered forever as will her hard work and determination. Her legacy lives on through her daughter Brandi (James) Becker and her beloved grandchildren Aybree and Easton Becker. Cheryll is further survived by her adoring mother Jean Smitham, her brother Guy (Ruth nee Barborich) Smitham along with several nieces, her loving cats Chester and Opal and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Ronald Smitham. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 6:00 PM at Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Avenue Cedarburg, WI 53012. Rev. Linda Westphal Buth will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until the time of service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Ozaukee County Humane Society, where Cheryll wanted to volunteer after her retirement.
