Mrs. Charlotte Jushka, of Port Washington, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her residence. She was 97 years old.
Charlotte was born in Racine, February 29, 1928, a beautiful leap-year baby. She was the oldest daughter of John and Marjorie (nee Sinkus) Koska. Later in her youth, Charlotte's family moved to the Milwaukee area, where she attended school, graduating from Messmer High School with the class of 1946.
Charlotte began her career with pride at the Wisconsin Electric Power Company in Milwaukee, before embarking on a journey of love and family. On October 4, 1952, she married her soulmate, John Jushka, at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Milwaukee, forming a union that would last through decades filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories, until John's passing in 2008.
A devoted member of St. John XXIII Parish, Charlotte's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She brought joy to her community by working as a clerk at the former Pesch Shoe Store and the Plush Pony Card and Gifts Store in Port Washington. Her kindness and cheerful spirit touched the lives of many.
Charlotte's radiant smile and unwavering love for her grandchildren were truly the highlight of her life. She embraced her role as a grandmother with open arms, making lasting memories filled with warmth and affection. Charlotte enjoyed traveling to Door County with her family, bird watching, flowers, doing word searches, and following the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Milwaukee Bucks.
She is survived by her four children: Anne (the late Dennis) Pawling, Mary Bohn, Jim (Dee) Jushka, and Jane Jushka. She is further survived by four grandchildren: Lisa (Dan) Oppeneer, Matthew (Christine) Bohn, Molly (Dustin) Kesner, and Lars (Elizabeth) Erlandson, 12 great-grandchildren: Allianna (Jordan) Peterson, Isabella, Kinley, Harper, Emersyn, James, Ashley, Abigail, Ahna Sophia, Troy, Carly, and Sadie, one great-great-granddaughter Oaklynn Charlotte, her brother Robert Koska, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her son-in-law Dennis, great-grandson Kip, siblings Carol Fullerton, and William Koska.
Funeral services for Charlotte will take place later this summer.
