Mr. Charlie Noeske of Cedarburg passed away at his residence Monday morning, October 14, 2019, while surrounded by his family. He was 89 years old. Charles was born in Milwaukee on August 21, 1930, son of Erwin and Erma Pickel Noeske. He attended local schools and graduated from Milwaukee Boys Tech, Class of 1949, before continuing on to proudly serve in the US Army. On November 29, 1958, Charles was united in marriage with Donna Welch at St. Eugene Catholic Church in Fox Point and began their family of three children.
Mr. Noeske worked in River Hills with the Department of Public Works, later taking the job of Street Commissioner in Port Washington. He also worked in West Bend before returning to River Hills, where he retired in 1991.
Charlie enjoyed gardening, birdwatching and doing yardwork, but had a true talent for stained glass. He made many windows, lampshades and sun-catchers over the years. His children treasure the projects left to them, as well as the memories of helping Dad refurbish a Willy's jeep and an old Chevy pick-up truck.
Survivors include his wife Donna of Cedarburg, and their three children: Elizabeth Abel of Cedarburg, Julie (Timothy) Murphy of Omaha, NE and Christopher (Paula) Noeske of Jennings, LA. He is further survived by seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, other family and friends. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Erma, and sister Eileen (the late David) Cook.
According to his wishes a private service was held at home immediately following his death. If desired, memorials in Charles' name are suggested to Alzheimer's research, or to Aurora Home Hospice Program.
