IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles M.
Hein
February 14, 1948 – February 5, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Michael Hein, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and dear friend to many. He peacefully departed this world on February 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and fond memories.
Born to Charles J. and Vera Hein on February 14, 1948, Charlie had a profound love for nature that defined his essence. He found solace and tranquility in the great outdoors, particularly when he was hunting, foraging, and fishing. He reveled in the peaceful moments spent outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the songs of the birds.
But perhaps nothing brought Charlie as much joy as sharing a meal of bratwurst and beer with family and friends. Whether gathered in the backyard or cozied up around a bonfire, Charlie cherished these moments of camaraderie and laughter.
Charlie assembled engines at Kohler Co. for 33 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He and Beverly loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Italy, Mexico, Alaska, and many other parts of the United States. Wilderness canoeing in Canada was an annual adventure.
Charlie will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Beverly; children, Sara Hein (Graeme Bean) and Emily Hein; stepchildren, Emily (Niklas) Mackler and Bernard Stuntebeck; grandchildren, Delilah and Otto Quasius and Sofia, Elin, and Mattias Mackler. Sisters, Judy Graczkowski and Deborah (Brian) Kloster. Stepbrothers, C. J. (Jeanette) Foster and Sean Foster. Brother-in-law, Ray (Bonnie) Lapinski; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Bob) Risser, Mary (Mike) Mueller, and Barb (Duane) Legler. Special friends, David and Christine Freund, Gary and Kay Nett, and Jack and Susan Bauman.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Gables on the Pond and Preceptor Hospice for their exceptional care and unwavering support, especially in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Wisconsin State Parks where Charlie and Beverly spent so much of their time.
A celebration of Charlie's life will be held on May 4, 2024, at The Sheboygan County Marsh Kohler Center from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Please come to share stories, laughter, food, and drinks to celebrate his amazing life. Though he may no longer walk among us, Charlie's spirit will live on in the beauty of nature, the laughter of loved ones, and the memories we hold dear in our hearts.
