Obituary

Captain Charles E. Fenton Sr. age 63 of Saukville passed away peacefully at his home on July 20th following a courageous battle against cancer. Charlie was born in Sheboygan on March 19th 1952 the son of Alvin and Louise Fenton. He attended Culver Military Academy and the University School of Milwaukee before graduating from Oostburg High School in 1970. He proudly served our country as a member of the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War and continued on in the National Guard for several years. He attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and Milwaukee School of Engineering. Then realizing his passion for the aviation industry Charlie pursued his love for flying. He had an extensive career that started with Masaba Airlines and led him to 20 years with Midwest Express Airlines in Milwaukee where he worked his way up to Captain. He shared his knowledge of aviation through various flight schools and EAA Chapters throughout his life. After 40 years Charlie reconnected with his teenage love Debra Rutkowski in 2006 and the two were married on May 8 2010 in Elkhart Lake. He is survived by his devoted and adoring wife Debra (nee Rutkowski) Fenton. He is further survived by his siblings John Fenton of Rio Linda CA and Anita Fenton of Vancouver Canada; four children: Anna (Joe) Bluma of Grafton Charlie (Jill) Fenton Jr. of New Orleans LA Scott Fenton of New Orleans LA and Anthony Fenton of Port Washington; step-sons: Jaymon (Courtney) Stalter of Hingham and Scott Stalter of La Crosse; three lovely grandchildren: Isabella and Isaiah Bluma and Tripp Stalter extended family and countless friends. He is preceded in his death by his parents. A Celebration of Charlie's life will be held at 2PM on Saturday August 15th at the EAA Chapter 1158 Hanger at the West Bend Airport 330 Earl Stier Dr. (south of Hwy 33 on the east side of West Bend).
