Obituary

Born July 9th, 1981, to Dave and Debbie (Vanderspool) Wickesberg, Chad Ryan Wickesberg was raised in Saukville, Wisconsin. Growing up, Chad's energy and passion for life was obvious. He could not be idle. Chad was constantly bouncing around, making musical beats, playing video games, snowboarding, and fishing with his family. He earned his blackbelt in Taekwondo and often practiced on his little brother, Ryan, making him "tough". He was an avid Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks fan and enjoyed going to games, and took every opportunity to watch his brother play football. Chad graduated from Ozaukee High School in 1999 and furthered his studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and then followed his musical aspirations at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences ("CRAS") in Phoenix, Arizona. Chad's love for music never stopped growing. In high school, he was the drummer in a band named TQ Hot and in college he played at open mic nights around Milwaukee. He could play and owned all sorts of instruments including drums, guitars, harmonicas, bongos, and even a didgeridoo. After extensive planning and research, Chad recently built his dream, an in-home music studio—he was very proud and excited about his creation. After graduating with top marks from CRAS, Chad briefly worked in an audio technician role in Chicago, Illinois and then moved to Woodburn, Indiana with Alicia Wynkoop, where he resided for the past 17 years. While in Indiana, Chad worked for Parts Town, a global distributor of foodservice equipment, for over 12 years, where he excelled in customer service, quality assurance, and various other roles. Chad recently transitioned to an innovation incubator focused on industry leading technology enhancements. Despite lacking the prerequisite of tech-related experience, he earned the position through vigor and conviction. He was recently nominated for a Company award as showing "courage and innovation in all he does", a testament to his "all-in" nature. No task was too big or difficult and Chad's response was always the same, "I'm on it now". Chad could not merely participate in anything – he wanted to be immersed. He was immersed foremost in his family and friends. He was playful and loyal beyond measure. He loved unconditionally and always lent a helping hand. He had a warm, happy, and personable nature and was quick to make conversation and would always remember someone's name. He was incredibly meticulous in all facets of life: his clothes perfectly folded, his records organized, his hair and beard (even when it was 12 inches long) well-manicured. In recent years, Chad was a passionate member of the Pour Misfits, a craft beer enthusiast group, where Chad often hosted bottle shares for 10-20+ friends in his "Legendary Cave". At last count, Chad rated 2,874 distinct craft beers, another example of his incredibly meticulous nature. Disc golf was Chad's newest passion, playing three-to-four times per week and with a full set of 24 discs, one for each type of shot. Music, craft beer, and disc golf were his hobbies, but he most enjoyed sharing them with friends and family. Chad especially loved teaching music and playing disc golf with his nephew and niece, Jack (4) and Molly (2), who he adored. Chad is survived by his parents and brother and further survived by his sister in-law Ellie (Voelker) Wickesberg and his adoring nephew and niece Jack and Molly Wickesberg. He is also survived by his uncles Gary (Jill) Vanderspool, Richard (Linda) Wickesberg, Jamie (Sally) Wickesberg, many loving cousins, his best friend, Alex Cardenas, his love, Alicia Wynkoop, and many close friends. Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Ruth Vanderspool, Warren and Elizabeth Wickesberg, and his uncle Tom Wickesberg.
