Mrs. Cecilia Bares Cecilia Bares age 92 years of 333 W. Walters St. Port Washington formerly of Belgium passed away Tuesday evening December 7 2004 at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center where she was a patient for the past six days. She was born May 9 1912 in Belgium daughter of Nicholas and Anna Strauss Krick. On May 9 1936 she married George Bares at St. Mary Church Lake Church. The couple was part owner and founder of the Belgium Community Center in 1962. He preceded her in death in 1978. Mrs. Bares was part of the staff that prepared meals and banquets for events at the Center. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church the Christian Women Catholic Order of Foresters and enjoyed quilting gardening and baking. Survivors include four children Philip (Paquita) Bares of Arlington Heights IL Thomas (Suzanne) Bares of Franklin Mary Ann (James) Stehlik of Belgium and Peter (Renee) Bares of Saukville eight grandchildren Roger Bares Michelle Hill Angelica Ward Melissa Bares Robert Bares Megan Bares Julie Teunissen and Jenny Stehlik four great grandchildren Cameron and Olivia Hill Brittany and Dylan Teunissen sisters in law brothers in law nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers John and William Krick. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 11 10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church Lake Church preceded by family rites at 10 AM at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. Belgium. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Friday from 4-8 PM and Saturday from 9-10 AM. A parish rosary service will be held at the Funeral Home Friday eve at 7:30 PM.
