Catherine Marie Demler of Port Washington passed away in her sleep on April 9, 2024. She was 63 years old.

She was born in Port Washington to Joseph and Therese (Schmit) Demler and attended local schools. Cathy worked much of her adult life as an occupational therapist. She had extensive training in hand injuries and worked with repetitive injuries in the automotive and meat packing industries.

Ms. Demler enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening and working with stained glass, growing orchids and doing crafts with her mom. She was a guardian on an Honor Flight with her dad and was often there with him to greet Veterans returning from their flights to see the Memorials in DC.

Recently, Cathy was the caregiver for her father and her mother.

She is survived by her brothers, Tom (Mary) and Steven (Jill), niece Cora and nephews Harley and Kevin, as well as several cousins.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Therese.
