CARYL VAUGHN HALLADA
At 99 years and 5 months, Caryl left us on August 4, 2016 with her family by her side in Greenfield, WI.
She has finally joined her beloved husband, William (Bill) Hallada, whom she was married to for 66 years.
Caryl and Bill were long- time residents of Port Washington from 1947-2005.
She was born in Pikeville, WI on February 28, 1917, the only daughter of Harrie and Helen Tillotson. She attended the Wisconsin School for the Deaf in Delavan from 1924-1938, and from 1941-1947 worked at Caron Spinning Company in Rochelle ILL as a spinner.
Caryl married William on September 27, 1947 at her parents' house in Antioch ILL.
She will be remembered as a loving caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cats and had a large kitty collection. She loved the color purple, eating dessert, and wining at War, Go Fish, & Parcheesi.
Caryl is survived by three children, Vaughn (Carol) Hallada of Port Washington, Harriet (Tom) May of Madison, and Nancy Hallada of Madison, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Caryl was preceded in death by her husband, William.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church for the Deaf in West Allis.
We wish to thank the wonderful caregivers and Hospice for making Caryl's life more comfortable so that she could stay in her own home. Carol, Roberta, Heidi, Alicia, Anna, Lynne and Jalee will always be special in our hearts.
Private Family services will be held in Port Washington.
