Obituary

Mrs. Caroline Bohlen of the Town of Saukville passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, June 14, 2024, at Ellen's Home in Port Washington. She was 92 years old.

Caroline was born in Stambaugh, MI, on November 12, 1931, daughter of Emil and Gertrude (Treul) Hill. Following high school, at 17 years of age and with lots of ambition, she moved to Milwaukee to find a job. She was hired at AC Spark Plug and 10 years later met the man of her dreams, Joseph Bohlen.

On April 30, 1960, Carrie was united in marriage with Joseph in Iron River, MI. The couple raised their family of four children on the family farm on Cedar Sauk Road in Saukville. Joe preceded Carrie in death in 2015.

Carrie enjoyed spending time with family and friends more than anything. She was a passionate gardener and loved to be out among her vast flower gardens and potted plants. Carrie also enjoyed vegetable gardening, birdwatching, crossword puzzles, games and keeping up on the news.

Survivors include her children Joe (Judy) Bohlen of Jamul, CA, Todd Bohlen & Laurie Nielsen of Marana, AZ, Mary (Mike) Dunbar of Brantwood, Mike (Cindy) Bohlen of Bayside and six grandchildren: Samantha, Kade, Julia, and Miah Bohlen, Brianna and Jarrett Dunbar. She is further survived by four great-grandchildren: Kellen, Kendon, and Kyler Belzer, and Cooper Woolever, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Carrie is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, sister Mathilda (the late Donald) Stout, and brothers Sonny and Oswald (the late Kitty) Hill.

A Memorial Service celebrating Carrie's life will take place on Saturday August 3, at 11:30 AM, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave, Cedarburg. Deacon Brady Gagne will preside. The family will receive guests at the Funeral Home on Saturday Aug 3, from 10:00 AM until services begin at 11:30 AM. A luncheon will be served immediately after the service and all guests are welcome to attend.
