Obituary

Carole J. Densow, age 89, of Thiensville died peacefully at The Cottages in West Bend on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Carole was born October 2, 1929, in Algoma, the daughter of Jacob and Lucille Kostichka. It was in Algoma that Carole met and married Charles L. Densow. Chuck and Carole owned and operated Densow Funeral Home in Thiensville. They both took great pride and compassion in serving the residents of Thiensville-Mequon. Following Chuck's death in 1998, Carole continued to live next to, and work at the funeral home until her health caused her to move to Willowbrook Assisted Living and subsequently The Cottages at the age of 84. Carole loved traveling with family, reading, Broadway shows, exercising, living in the Village of Thiensville, bird watching and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Her wit and smile endured over the years despite the onset and advancement of dementia. Carole is survived by her children: Debra (Gary) Valestin, David (Eloina) Densow, Lori (Ken) Gates and Daniel (Joanne) Densow, her grandchildren: Matthew (Laura), Michael (Erin), Laura, Eddy, Eliana, Craig (Angie), Dominic (Yvonne), Lucas (Katie) and Jacob; great grandchildren: David, Raymond, Eleanor, Gregory, Rylie, Elle and Lily, sisters Lucille Graf, Shirley Holtz and brother Robert (Kathy) Kostichka, along with many wonderful nieces and nephews. Besides Chuck, Carole was preceded in death by her sister Ruth Bader and brothers-in-law Fritz Bader, John Graf and Rollie Holtz. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday, April 8th, at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2750 W. Mequon Rd, Mequon. Father Dan Sanders will preside over the Mass. Visitation will be held at 2-4 PM, Sunday, April 7th, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg, and also at the church on Monday from 10-11 AM. A time of sharing memories will take place at 4 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Carole will be laid to rest next to Chuck at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Cedarburg, and Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton is honored to assist the Densow family.
