Mrs. Carol Swang of Pewaukee passed away Friday morning, April 29, 2022, at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Port Washington, where she had resided the last four years. She was 81 years old.
Carol was born in Waukesha on December 6, 1940, daughter of Maurice and Adeline Staffeldt Mitchell. She attended local schools.
On February 13, 1959, Carol was united in marriage with Neal Swang in Waukesha. The couple was blessed with one son, Robert. Neal preceded Carol in death in 2018.
Mrs. Swang enjoyed baking, gardening, travel and needlework. She played the organ and the accordion. Carol also liked painting; her favorite medium was acrylic. She liked to watch The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross, and paint along with the show.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Robert (Lisa) Swang of Port Washington, brother Richard "Dick" (the late Jean) Mitchell of Concord, WI, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Neal, father Maurice Mitchell, mother Adeline (the late Paul) Slomski, and brother Gerald Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 6PM on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. Rev. Colson Leach will preside. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5PM until services at 6PM.
Memorials are suggested in her name to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
