Obituary

Carol Ann Rheingans passed away from a stroke on March 9, 2022. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Gerald C. Rheingans on March 10, 2001. Carol was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin. She excelled in school and was one of the few women to obtain a degree in business from the University of Whitewater in the 1960's. She was very stylish, intelligent, and popular at school. She met Jerry and they settled in Port Washington in 1972. After her two daughters were born, she took a job as a server at the legendary Smith Bros. Fish Shanty in Port Washington. She loved the social aspect of the job and was very successful. Carol was full of life, loved to talk and have fun. She frequently traveled to New York City to see her daughter Tracey and her son-in-law Justin. She also enjoyed visiting at home with her daughter Karen. They would have nice lunches around town where she could relax and even enjoy her favorite drinks, a brandy old fashioned sweet followed by a cup of coffee. She was close to her family and recently had visited her brother Bill and sisters Nancy and Judy. She was also very fond of her nieces and nephews. Carol was active in the Women's Club and had many friends. She enjoyed rummaging and drinking coffee with her friend Mark and dining out and socializing with her favorite neighbors Dawn and Andy. She loved cats and animals and enjoyed reading and watching true crime shows on TV. A small celebration of life will be held this summer TBD. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local animal shelter or even simply drop off some cat or dog food in honor of our mother.
