Carol L. Mayworm

Ms. Carol Mayworm, age 86, passed away at Lincoln Village in Port Washington during the evening hours of Friday, July 5, 2024.

Carol was born in Houghton, MI, on August 18, 1937, the daughter of Elmer and Margaret (nee Richards) Mayworm. After high school, Carol attended Suomi College in Hancock, MI, receiving her associates degree. She had a lifelong thirst for knowledge, and attended Northern Michigan University, in Marquette, MI, Michigan Technical University in Houghton, MI, and received her a master's degree in teaching from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. Carol taught high school English at Brookfield East High School for over 30 years.

Carol enjoyed travelling all over the world and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her brother Gary (Jayne) Mayworm of Grafton and her sister Judy Juola of Alpena, MI. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Larsen, Matthew (Cheryl) Priest, Josh Mayworm, Dave (Kristen) Mayworm, Andy Mayworm, Ben Mayworm, Jessica (Joseph) Rettler, and Zach Mayworm, many great-nieces and nephews, and her longtime friend Jean Luokka.

Carol is preceded in death by her nephew Jon Mayworm.

A Celebration of Carol's life will take place on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 4-6 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg.

She will be laid to rest next to her parents in Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton, MI.
