Obituary

Carol Margaret Flerchinger of Port Washington was welcomed into the arms of Jesus and reunited with her loving husband on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the age of 90. She was born the daughter of Fred and Elsie Schueller on June 5, 1933. Carol married the love of her life, Lyall Flerchinger at Holy Cross Chapel on September 26, 1953, and together they had five loving daughters.

Carol was a long-time parishioner of St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary's Church. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society and an auxiliary member of the Port Washington VFW Post 5373. She worked many years at St. Alphonsus Hospital along with other caregiving positions. Carol cherished her job at St. Vincent De Paul because of all the people she met. She enjoyed traveling, especially her yearly trip up north with family. Above all, she treasured her time spent with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Carol's memory are her daughters Janet (Paul) Sedlar, Peggy (Frank) Eder, Lisa (Joseph) Fazio, Kay (David) Schueller, Dawn (Derek) Kratz; grandchildren Joseph (Lisa), Brian (Dana) and Matthew (Angela) Sedlar, Shaun (Alana), and James (Mary) Eder, Megan (Bennett) Ruplinger, Joseph (Samantha) Fazio, and Becca Fazio, Luke (Elida) and Nicholas Schueller, Myles, Sidney and Nolan Kratz; 15 great-granchildren and sister Pearl Paradeis; sisters-in-law Bernice Schueller and Ginny Schueller. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lyall, siblings Fredrick (Cecilia) Schueller, Ronald Schueller, Leroy Schueller, Robert Schueller, Mildred (Killian) Burton, Joyce (Vernon) Schmit, Doris (Jack) Gahan; sister-in-law Elvira (John) Port; brother-in-law Harvey (Loretta) Flerchinger.
