Carol Egerer, of Port Washington, formerly of Cedar Grove, passed away in the evening hours of Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon. She was 81 years old.
She was born on July 3, 1939 in Port Washington, the oldest daughter of George Klein and Mary Kendall Klein. When she was a young girl, the family relocated to Hancock, MI. She attended school in Hancock, graduating from Hancock High School with the class of 1957. After high school, Carol moved back to the Port Washington area where she met the love of her life, Marvin Egerer. The couple were married on January 31, 1959 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Washington. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Carol enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. Her hobbies included watching movies and television, playing cards, caring for her pets, and especially spending time with her many grandchildren.
She is survived by her six children: Ruth (Mark) Grigsby, John (Debra) Egerer, Diane (Shawn) Anderson, Joe (Vickie) Egerer, Janet (Dave) Dodson, and Tom Egerer. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren: Anna (Conor) Quinlevan, Ben Karrels, Tori (Kyle) Akers, Tyler (Alyssa) Egerer, Elizabeth (John) Almquist, Johanna (Jake) Klemme, Steve Jacoby, Kathryn (Nicole) Jacoby, Kari (Eric) McGaughey, Kelsey Jacoby, Calvin Jacoby, Tony Egerer, Marcus Egerer, Tessa Egerer, Tanner (Paige) Dodson, Dylan (Olivia) Dodson, Garrett Dodson, Payton Dodson, Jenneh Egerer, Kim Egerer, and Ethan Egerer, 15 great-grandchildren, six sisters Margie Nutini, Betty Wickley, Barbara Wilmers, Kathy Wanhala, Kris Oertel and Mary Beth Laiti, four brothers: Nick Klein, John Klein, Jim Klein, and Phil Klein, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends at Maple Crest Apartments.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, her infant daughter Barbara, and one sister Patricia Poggione.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 1st at 6 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave, Port Washington. Rev. Wayne King will officiate the service. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the funeral home from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
