CAROL J. BUTZ

Mrs. Carol Butz, formerly of Port Washington, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, at Barrett House in Markesan, where she had been residing for the last 18 months. She was 84 years old.

Carol was born in Port Washington on June 23, 1942, the daughter of Wendell and Florence (nee Mueller) Barber. She attended local schools and graduated from Port Washington High School.

On March 13, 1965, Carol was united in marriage with Calvin Butz. The couple lived in the Town of Port Washington before moving to Grafton. Mrs. Butz worked as a motor tester at Leeson Electric for many years. Calvin preceded Carol in death in 2018.

The word that best described Carol is Sparkly! She was always well put together before leaving the house, and enjoyed being fashion-forward in her style. She loved to laugh, and shared her infectious good spirit with those around her. She was also a very good cook.

Survivors include her son Curt, sister Mary (the late Glenn) Blumenberg, sister-in-law Janice (the late Paul) Barber, brother-in-law Joe (the late Wendy) Petkus, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Carol is preceded in death by her husband Calvin and sister Joan (the late Robert) Rueter.

Carol and Calvin will be laid to rest in a private family service at Union Cemetery, Port Washington.
