Carl Lehnert passed away at the age of 77, on Saturday, April 2, 2022, after a well fought battle of lung cancer. His family was at his side. He was born on February 5, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Guenther and Ellinor (Schwandt) Lehnert. He was united in marriage to his lifelong friend, LeeAnne Grossenbach on August 14, 1965. Following graduation at Boys Tech High School, Carl served a Tool and Die Apprenticeship at Allen Bradley in Milwaukee. As a journeyman he worked in a number of shops before deciding to go out on his own. Carl and a couple of partners started C & L Industries in Cedarburg where he worked until he retired in 2006. Carl and LeeAnne enjoyed traveling and spending the summers at the lake. Carl always loved being outdoors. He enjoyed working with nature to create inviting spaces using sand, driftwood and beach rocks. He truly appreciated those walks on the beach. Carl was always ready for cards and cocktails with friends. He was known for his gigantic bonfires that were enjoyed by many. Carl is survived by LeeAnne, his best friend and wife of 56 years, loving children Kristen (Brad) Henningfeld and Kevin (Nicole Pike), step-grandson David, granddaughter Amelia, and grandson Kaleb "KJ", his brother Werner, sister-in-law Sharon Wagner, brother-in-law Ron Grossenbach (Carol), nephews and so many caring friends. Carl was proceeded in death by his parents. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, at Advent Lutheran Church, Cedarburg W63N642 Washington Ave, Cedarburg, WI 53012.
