Mr. Bruce Venné, of Niagara Court in Port Washington, passed away at his home Monday, January 30, 2017, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 78 years old. Bruce was born in Tomahawk on November 15, 1938, son of Chester and Helen Novak Venné. He grew up in Milwaukee, attending local schools and graduating from Rufus King High School, before enlisting in the US Marine Corps. On November 21, 1959, Bruce was united in marriage with Dolores Martinez in Waukegan, IL. The couple settled in Milwaukee. Mr. Venné worked in quality control at American Can Company, and later Schlitz Brewery and Strohs Brewery. Bruce worked in plants in Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, and Texas before moving home to Milwaukee. He retired in 2000. Bruce was an enthusiastic golfer and an avid Civil War history buff, frequently going to re-enactments. The couple traveled often, usually here in the United States; Bruce would often say, "There's so much to see here!"
