BRUCE C. KLEIN Mr. Bruce Klein, of Saukville, passed away unexpectedly in Milwaukee late Thursday evening, March 17, 2016. He was 67 years old. Bruce was born in Port Washington on January 1, 1949, the first child of Gilbert and Dorothy Burhop Klein. The family lived in Saukville and Bruce attended local schools before enlisting in the US Army. He served as an Infantryman in Vietnam from 1969 until 1970 with the 173rd Airborne, known as the "Herd". On October 20, 1973 Bruce was united in marriage with Cathy Hintz at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Brown Deer. The couple settled in Port Washington before moving to the family homestead in Saukville in 1977. Mr. Klein learned the skills of a successful carpenter while under the watchful eye of Henry Derler. He later ran his own shop, BK Carpentry. Bruce also ran Destiny and Titan, charter boats out of Sheboygan. He was a member of Saukville American Legion Landt-Thiel Post 470 and enjoyed shooting pool, fishing and music. In his younger years Bruce played piano and trumpet. Mr. Klein is survived by his wife Cathy, his brother Dale Klein of Milwaukee, sisters Linda (fiancée Bart Wienke) Kaczmarek of New Berlin and Nancy (Gene) Wisch of Aurora, CO. He is further survived by brothers- and sisters-in-law Michael (Bev) Kunda of the Town of Vernon, Ken (Barb) Kunda of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Patricia (Robert) Austreng of Little River, SC, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. A time of gathering will be held on Thursday, April 7th from 2-5:30 PM at the Blue Heron Wildlife Sanctuary, 4030 County Road O, Saukville. A Celebration of Life service and military honors will follow at 6 PM. Bruce will be laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery. All memorials will be donated to local veteran's organizations. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
