Obituary

Bruce Becker of Port Washington passed away in the afternoon hours of Thursday March 6 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 73 years old. Bruce was born in Chicago IL son of Charles Becker and Katherine Meberger Becker. He grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Forman High School in 1958. He then attended Carthage College in Carthage IL. Bruce graduated from Carthage with a triple major in 1962. On January 14 1967 he married Mary Bellon in Horicon WI. In 1971 the couple moved to Port Washington to raise their family. Bruce was the owner and Executive Vice President of X-Cel Tooling Inc. in Iron Ridge WI one of the premier metal stamping tool die shops in the state of Wisconsin. He was very proud of his company having rescued it from bankruptcy in 1987 and growing it to over 50 employees today all of whom Bruce considered family. Bruce was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington and also a current member of the Port Washington Police and Fire Commission. He had a passion for the game of golf enjoyed playing bridge fishing traveling to Eagle River dining out and was also a die-hard Chicago Bears fan and a staunch conservative. Bruce is survived by his wife Mary of Port Washington his two children Dan (Karen) Becker of Port Washington and Trish (Adam) Poull of Belgium six grandchildren: Alex Abby Nick Becker and Emily Matthew and Olivia Poull. He is further survived by his brother Robert (Sydna) Becker of Vero Beach FL his sister Carol (Ron) Howard of Chicago IL three sisters-in-law: Phyllis Becker of Edmonds WA Peggy (Scott) Schroeder of Fond du Lac Kathleen (Stan) Plageman of Fond du Lac three brothers-in-law: Daniel Bellon of Beaver Dam John Bellon of Fond du Lac and Edward Bellon of Sarasota FL nieces nephews other relatives and many many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents one brother Charles Becker one nephew Conrad Becker and his in-laws Patricia and Francis Bud Bellon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 11th 6 PM at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington. Father Pat Wendt will preside. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery Port Washington. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital the American Cancer Society and St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church. Please no flowers.
