Mr. Brian Hayes, of Milwaukee, passed away unexpectedly in the afternoon hours of Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at his residence. He was 42 years old.

Brian was born in Milwaukee on July 17, 1980, son of Rodney and Joan (nee Kessler) Hayes. Brian grew up in Wind Lake and graduated from Muskego High School with the class of 1998. After high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in history in 2002. Brian started working for Milwaukee Public Schools where he completed his master's in special education from Cardinal Stritch University. Brian worked for MPS for over 15 years as both a teacher and an administrator. He worked mostly at Milwaukee Washington High School and MacDowell Montessori School, where he loved working with students and staff.

Brian was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Wauwatosa. He enjoyed camping, cooking, and especially spending time with his family. He was known for his sense of humor and funny stories.

Brian is survived by his wife Anne of Milwaukee and his two sons Brian and Charlie. He is further survived by his mother Joan Hayes of Port Washington, his three siblings: Jaclyn (Allen) Kuhl, Dana (Jason) Leistiko, both of Port Washington, and Lauren (the late Kyle) Bergendahl of Bay View, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father Rodney and his brother Jeffrey Hayes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 5 PM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Parish, 734 Glenview Ave. in Wauwatosa.

Visitation will take place at the Church on Thursday the 5th from 3:30-5 PM.
