age 69, passed away at her home on February 5, 2016. She was born to Ambrose and Ruth (nee Peters) Mayer on February 13, 1946 in Port Washington, WI.
Bonnie spent her happiest times looking after her grandchildren and volunteering for the people in her church, The Congregation of the Great Spirit. She believed her calling was to help others in whatever way she could which usually amounted to preparing food for them. Her home was always filled with knitting, crafts and other projects she was preparing as gifts for others; visiting her you would come away with glitter or glue on your clothes as a reminder. When not working for people, Bonnie worked for the Earth; working hard to ensure that nature was preserved for future generations.
Bonnie is survived by her children Benjamin (Andrea Havens) Stocks and Kathryn (Anthony Gardner) Stocks: grandchildren Veronica Stocks and Hannah Gardner: brothers Dennis (Lynn) Mayer and James (Lorraine) Mayer and her sister Jeanne Mayer. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents and her nephew Josh.
A Memorial gathering to celebrate Bonnie's life will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 12:00 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home (1600 W. Grand Ave Port Washington, WI 53074) with Deacon Ron Schneider officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center to help ensure future generations have a connection to the natural world.
