Billie McGinnis, of Hales Corners, went to walk with her Lord on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Care Age in Brookfield. She was 89 years old.
Billie was born in Mena, Ark., on October 14, 1934, the daughter of William Burl Bledsoe and Nellie Lee McCrivans Bledsoe.
When Billie was in high school, her family moved to the Adell, WI area, and she attended high school in Random Lake. In 1974, Billie moved to Hales Corners. After moving, Billie worked for J.C. Penny's in Brookfield for many years. After she retired from J.C. Penny's, she worked in sales for Wal-Mart in Hales Corners for over 20 years.
Billie was a woman of great charm and a contagious sense of humor. She had a knack for putting together puzzles. She would meet every day with her friend group at her apartment spending countless hours engrossed in their intricate designs.
An avid sports fan, Billie had an unwavering loyalty to both the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. She could often be found cheering from the comfort of her favorite armchair, passionately supporting her beloved teams.
Billie was also a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hales Corners. Her faith was unwavering, and she found great solace and strength in her religious beliefs. She actively participated in church activities and cherished the bond she had with her fellow worshippers.
Billie is survived by her two children Garry (Linda) McGinnis and Natalie Dawn (John) Robarge. She is further survived by seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, her three siblings: Wylie (Jean) Bledsoe, Chuck (Linda) Bledsoe and Linda Miller, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ruby Lee Arendt, Jewel Flores, Brenda Barnekow, James Bledsoe and Willie Bledsoe.
Funeral services for Billie will be celebrated on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., in Port Washington. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the funeral services at 1:00 PM.
She will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested.
